A proud native of California, Misro is a producer of film and TV with a background in sales where she has attended all International film markets. She holds an MFA from the American Film Inst. in Producing where her thesis film, “Badger” won several awards and grants, including best student film from the DGA ( Directors Guild of America and ASC ( American Society of Cinematographers) While working on various capacities in Entertainment, she has produced extensively in India for CNBC Asia and also independent projects. She also worked in Europe for Prime Xchange India which was an educational forum for producers and distributors funded by the EU based in Berlin, Germany.
She served as a mentor for women in film in L.A and is a chair of women in film Intl. LA for the past ten years. She programs numerous educational events for the international film community where she collaborates with film festival directors and International Consulates. She most recently served as a Mentor for the American Pavilion at the Cannes film festival 2015 where she supervised 17 students and mentored nearly 200 college students. Her latest film credits include, “Inshallah, In Search of America” (Drama) which was selected in the cannes short film corner 2015 and U.S Crowd funding manager for the feature film, “Sunrise” (thriller) which just premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival that addresses child trafficking in India. Sunrise also screened in Cannes, 2015. Misro assisted the producers on “The Devils Double” which addresses Suddam Hussein’s sons double, based on a true story and premiered in the U.S at Sundance and at Berlinale 2011. Her compassion to document the human condition through fiction and non-fiction modes of storytelling was born during her extended stay in Orissa, India ( Her ancestral land) after college and extensive travel throughout India She just wrapped on a short film, called “Out” as the producer which is currently in post production.
